finally the past week we digitalize our car whit the 3d digitalizer it was so good because you actually get lines that help you to create a 3d model in any program, its kind of boring cause you have to get a lot of information and can be for a long time.
this week we work in doing the model whit rhino i hope to learn more about the program and im going to practice and see if i can be capable to use the program.

this third week we start to put some tape on our car in order to be the guide lines for the 3d digitalizer, our car is excelent for the job because its cheap, easy to separate and the most importante its perfect size.
other caracteristic of our car is a device for the motion that its so easy to ensamble and use in other car.
we have a real challenge trying to make our car better cause its not a real car and it would make us the work a little bit harder but at the same time exciting because we can do so many changes.

2nd week prototypes 3
this week i learn how to use the 3d digitalizer, it was so good that we can actually copy a physical model into the computer.
im so exited to start whit the project and use all this new technology, also i learn about diferent prototyping proces, i like the most the SLS process that have more pros than the other process one of them are the cheap and rehusable material, also the acurrate of the models and the capability of manufacturing, all this cause of the durability of the pieces created by this process.
i think we are going to buy a mustang or a lamborghini for our project.

thinking in protoypes and impresions of the class.

the class was everything that i imagine and im so escited to begin the project and learn everything as i can.
SLS
in the first week we have to investigate about selective laser sintering, a rapid protptyping proces that consist in a 3D printer based on a computer program that creates a piece by fusing material that could be glass, steel or ceramic. whit a CO2 laser that only fuse specific parts gived by the computer program.
Based on the reading thinking in prototypes, i can see clearly the advantages of having the model phisically in 3D because in that way we can see if it is comfortable, easy tu use or if its so fragil that it wont resist a drop test.
but its not only the phisical feeling of the object, also we can detect some mistakes in the desing and if we have the object we can work on it and try to fix it or change it, this is the philosophy of "fail eraly fail often". this motto tell us the importance to detect the mistakes or the failures in our products in the eraliest step of the manufacturing line, if we are capable to do this we can save a lot of money and the most important time. i put time as the most important resource because its not renewable and we cannot buy it or get more. Nowadays the competition involves the good use of the technology, this involves CAD programs and 3D printers.
these technology help the designers to eliminate the motto "trail and error ", that implies a great waste of money and time, or like in the article says "it sounds so uncontrolled and wastefull".
also an important point its to have a discipline in the way to start our desing i like the comparison that the autors teacher uses, "always get in the ballpark first then find the diamond , then look for the home plate.", this phrase talk about getting involved whit your product or whit your desing, and in that way your final costumer will be pleased, because you take all the considerations in your design.
in the last part of the article talk about the importance or the replacement of the CAD printouts for the rapid prototypes. the advantages of this substitutions are the less time and less money in the design of our products also if we put in the users shoes we can experiment and anticipate all the situtations that can be a problem for our design.
if we want to make an excelent and innovator desing we have to enjoy and believe in our creativity beacuse we can experiment the problem the autor have trying to design a coffee machine when he doesnt like coffee, he only knew how a coffee machine must work, but he wasnt involved whit his product and he cant detect any mistakes or problems that a users can have whit his design.
in conclusion we have to believe and enjoy designing, and try to use all the resources as the rapid prototyping process and CAD programs but remembering the basic steps to design.
